A Note to Our Fans & Subscribers
We hope you're enjoying Kahani as much as we love putting it together for you. The talent of our contributors is just amazing and the Indian subcontinent is a constant source of inspiration for interesting themes.
We're putting the finishing touches on If Walls Could Talk. Once this Winter ‘10 issue is out, we’ll go on hiatus. Here’s why:
It’s getting harder and harder for Kahani to make it as an ad-free magazine. We’ve thought of publishing ads, but feel it will compromise our editorial integrity. And relying on subscription money as our main revenue source just doesn’t cut it. Many of our contributors, including all staff members, go unpaid. Much as we’d like to continue publishing, we can’t. We’ve simply run out of money.
However, you can continue to buy single (back) issues of Kahani. But we won't be accepting new subscriptions or renewals at this time. We are also suspending the Kahani Art Contest.
Keep your fingers crossed for us as we figure out our next chapter. |
